Elle n\u2019est pas ironique. Elle exprime une tension accumul\u00e9e, un d\u00e9sir de d\u00e9charge sans cible pr\u00e9cise, sans sc\u00e9nario. Le bouton appara\u00eet d\u00e9j\u00e0 comme une figure abstraite du pouvoir : un geste minuscule aux effets irr\u00e9versibles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette figure revient sous une forme concr\u00e8te avec l\u2019objet offert : un lutin de bois, mont\u00e9 sur culbute.<br>Un simple appui suffit \u00e0 le faire tomber. La pression cesse : il se redresse. Le geste est enfantin, r\u00e9p\u00e9titif, presque ludique \u2014 mais la chute est r\u00e9elle. Le mot \u00ab LUTIN \u00bb, inscrit sur le bouton, lie l\u2019objet \u00e0 une identit\u00e9 sylvestre : le petit, le forestier, le fragile dress\u00e9 sur une boule instable. Le lutin ne r\u00e9siste pas. Il encaisse. Il tombe et se rel\u00e8ve \u2014 tant que la pression cesse. Le mot \u00ab LUTIN \u00bb, inscrit volontairement au stylo sur le bouton, nomme l\u2019objet sans en mesurer encore la port\u00e9e. Ce n\u2019est qu\u2019apr\u00e8s coup que cette nomination prend relief, en r\u00e9sonance avec le r\u00e9gime sylvestre et la chute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans le m\u00eame temps, \u00e0 l\u2019antenne, une m\u00eame formule circule : \u00ab j\u2019appuie sur le bouton \u00bb. Elle n\u2019est pas nouvelle, mais elle s\u2019accentue, se r\u00e9p\u00e8te, s\u2019appuie. Le geste verbal insiste. Il devient motif. Il ne d\u00e9clenche rien, mais il pr\u00e9pare un r\u00e9gime d\u2019\u00e9coute o\u00f9 l\u2019appui, la pression et l\u2019instant critique prennent une place centrale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le po\u00e8me envoy\u00e9 quelques jours plus tard d\u00e9place la tension sur un plan graphique et cin\u00e9matographique. Des graphes \u00e9closent : lignes, rubans, surfaces en d\u00e9roulement. Le paysage est un paysage de bord : r\u00e9cif, galets, courants d\u00e9riv\u00e9s, dune, foug\u00e8re. Rien n\u2019est stable ; tout glisse, frotte, d\u00e9rive, se d\u00e9roule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les images rel\u00e8vent autant du rivage que de la projection : pellicule, lamelles, toiles, lumi\u00e8re qui rebondit \u00ab du po\u00eale aux paupi\u00e8res \u00bb. Le cin\u00e9ma appara\u00eet comme une zone interm\u00e9diaire,<br>un seuil entre mati\u00e8re et image, entre choc et apparition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le bois n\u2019appara\u00eet pas encore comme for\u00eat, mais comme mati\u00e8re en attente : po\u00eale, fruits hauts, traits repos\u00e9s. Une mati\u00e8re diff\u00e9r\u00e9e, pr\u00eate \u00e0 tomber, \u00e0 se coucher, puis \u00e0 \u00eatre br\u00fbl\u00e9e. Ce qui est encore surface et image deviendra masse, chute, encombrement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00ab Salut les Grands, Smatchs ! \u00bb La salutation n\u2019est pas joyeuse. Elle marque l\u2019\u00e9cart d\u2019\u00e9chelle : le petit face aux masses, le lutin face aux arbres, l\u2019humain face \u00e0 la for\u00eat. Le mot \u00ab smatchs \u00bb \u00e9crase, plaque, abat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les derniers fragments d\u00e9placent encore la sc\u00e8ne. Ne pas s\u2019arracher les cheveux : tenir.<br>\u00catre sur un strapontin : si\u00e8ge provisoire, rabattable, qui peut se refermer \u00e0 tout instant.<br>\u00c0 l\u2019envers, le strapontin devient trappe. La position est suspendue, instable, pr\u00eate \u00e0 c\u00e9der.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lorsque la temp\u00eate Klaus survient, elle ne r\u00e9alise aucun de ces signes.<br>Elle les traverse. Des vents extr\u00eames couchent des milliers d\u2019arbres. La for\u00eat tombe. Des vies sont perdues. Ce qui, jusque-l\u00e0, relevait du geste miniature \u2014 appuyer, chuter, se redresser \u2014 change brutalement d\u2019\u00e9chelle. Le bouton n\u2019est plus accessible. La chute ne se redresse pas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce cin\u00e9scriptographe ne raconte pas la temp\u00eate.<br>Il en approche la forme sensible : une accumulation de pressions, un seuil invisible, puis une d\u00e9charge massive, o\u00f9 le bois, le sol, les corps et les \u00e9quilibres c\u00e8dent ensemble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Note<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce cin\u00e9scriptographe n\u2019\u00e9tablit aucune causalit\u00e9 entre les phrases envoy\u00e9es, les objets offerts, les paroles radiophoniques et la temp\u00eate Klaus de janvier 2009.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il observe comment une s\u00e9rie de gestes, de mots et de figures \u2014 bouton, chute, bois, cin\u00e9ma, si\u00e8ge instable \u2014 peut, apr\u00e8s coup, entrer en r\u00e9sonance avec un \u00e9v\u00e9nement naturel violent ayant entra\u00een\u00e9 des pertes humaines et des destructions majeures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il ne s\u2019agit ni d\u2019une m\u00e9taphore de la catastrophe, ni d\u2019une mise en sc\u00e8ne de la col\u00e8re, ni d\u2019un jeu symbolique. Il s\u2019agit d\u2019une lecture par affinit\u00e9 formelle et rythmique, o\u00f9 le passage du minuscule au massif, du jouet \u00e0 la for\u00eat, du bouton au vent, fait appara\u00eetre une m\u00eame logique de basculement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le lutin ne commande pas la temp\u00eate. Several words function simultaneously on multiple levels: visual, sonic, material, and associative, without stabilizing into a single semantic meaning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The English version presented here should therefore be understood not as a translation in the conventional sense, but as a proximity rendering: an attempt to preserve images, movements, and tonal density, while accepting the loss of certain phonetic and linguistic effects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In particular:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the poem\u2019s relation to cinema (film reel, projection, light rebound),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>its latent references to wood, forest matter, and surfaces,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and its play with scale and impact (\u201cSmatchs\u201d),<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>operate through sound and texture as much as through meaning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What is transmitted is a formal vibration, not a semantic equivalence.<br>The poem remains, in its core operations, rooted in French.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cinescriptographic Reading (a posteriori)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Read after the fact, these glimpses organize themselves around a single regime of triggering, falling, and righting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It begins with a phrase of anger: \u201cpress the button.\u201d The expression is brutal, excessive, almost unbearable. It is not ironic. It expresses accumulated tension, a desire for discharge without a precise target, without a scenario. The button already appears as an abstract figure of power: a tiny gesture with irreversible effects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This figure returns in concrete form with the offered object: a wooden lutin mounted on a tumbling mechanism. A simple press is enough to make it fall. The pressure stops: it rises again. The gesture is childlike, repetitive, almost playful\u2014but the fall is real.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The word <em>\u201cLUTIN,\u201d<\/em> deliberately written on the button, names the object without yet measuring its scope. Only afterward does this naming take on relief, resonating with a sylvan regime and with the fall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, on air, the same phrase circulates: \u201c<em>I press the button<\/em>.\u201d It is not new, but it intensifies, repeats, presses itself forward. The verbal gesture insists. It becomes a motif. It triggers nothing, but it prepares a regime of listening in which pressure, contact, and the critical instant take on a central place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The poem sent a few days later shifts the tension to a graphic and cinematic plane. Graphs burst forth: lines, ribbons, unfolding surfaces. The landscape is a border landscape: reef, pebbles, drifting currents, dune, fern. Nothing is stable; everything slides, rubs, drifts, unspools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Images belong as much to the shoreline as to projection: film reel, slats, screens, light bouncing \u201cfrom stove to eyelids.\u201d Cinema appears as an intermediate zone, a threshold between matter and image, between impact and apparition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wood does not yet appear as forest, but as deferred matter: stove, elevated fruits, resting strokes. A delayed substance, ready to fall, to be laid low, then to be burned. What is still surface and image will become mass, fall, obstruction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGreetings to the Giants, Smatchs!\u201d<br>The salutation is not joyful. It marks a difference in scale: the small facing the massive, the lutin facing the trees, the human facing the forest. The word \u201csmatchs\u201d flattens, slams, strikes down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The final fragments displace the scene once more.<br>Not tearing one\u2019s hair out: holding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sitting on a folding seat: a provisional support, collapsible, ready to snap shut.<br>Turned upside down, the folding seat becomes a trapdoor. The position is suspended, unstable, ready to give way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When Storm Klaus arrives, it fulfills none of these signs.<br>It passes through them. Extreme winds flatten thousands of trees. The forest falls. Lives are lost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What had until then belonged to miniature gesture\u2014pressing, falling, rising\u2014 suddenly changes scale. The button is no longer accessible. The fall does not right itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This cinescriptograph does not recount the storm.
