Les fragments \u00e9taient transmis dans des espaces publics, notamment radiophoniques, o\u00f9 ils \u00e9taient lus ou entendus par des tiers \u2014 notamment les animateurs et animatrices de France Inter. Lorsque des \u00e9v\u00e9nements survenaient ensuite, certains de ces t\u00e9moins ont eux-m\u00eames \u00e9tabli des rapprochements avec les fragments ant\u00e9rieurement transmis, parfois avant l\u2019auteur lui-m\u00eame.<br>\n<\/p><p>Le dispositif met aujourd\u2019hui en regard ces aper\u00e7us avec les \u00e9v\u00e9nements publics survenus apr\u00e8s leur inscription.<br>\n<\/p><p>Les \u00e9v\u00e9nements \u00e9voqu\u00e9s concernent des faits r\u00e9els et, parfois, des disparitions. Ils sont pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s avec retenue, sans intention d\u2019interpr\u00e9tation.<br>\n<\/p><p>Le disque stroboscopique en illustre le principe m\u00e9canique&nbsp;: des images s\u00e9par\u00e9es dans le temps qui, mises en relation par rotation, entrent en r\u00e9sonance apr\u00e8s coup.<br>\n<\/p><p>L\u2019exposition, l\u2019ouvrage et la version num\u00e9rique proposent trois acc\u00e8s diff\u00e9rents au cin\u00e9scriptographe. L\u2019exposition en pr\u00e9sente une s\u00e9lection, privil\u00e9giant les pi\u00e8ces les plus directement appr\u00e9hendables afin d\u2019en rendre le fonctionnement perceptible dans l\u2019espace. L\u2019ouvrage en constitue la forme la plus pr\u00e9cise et la plus document\u00e9e ; la version num\u00e9rique, accessible librement en ligne, en propose une approche plus synth\u00e9tique. Les pi\u00e8ces les plus complexes trouvent ainsi leur d\u00e9veloppement dans l\u2019ouvrage ou dans la version num\u00e9rique.<br>\n<\/p><p>Le visiteur est invit\u00e9 \u00e0 circuler librement entre les fragments et les \u00e9v\u00e9nements, sans en fixer le sens.<br>\n<\/p><p>    \n<br>\n<\/p><p>    \n<br>\n<em>The cinescriptograph \u200b\u200bis a cinema without a camera, a cinema of sentences.<\/em><\/p><em>Between 2008 and 2012, Sylvain Legrand recorded poetic and factual fragments\u2014phrases, observations, mental images\u2014without prior knowledge of the events with which some of them would later be linked.\u00a0This work relies on neither predictive intent nor a symbolic interpretation of the world.\u00a0It consists of recording, then connecting and re-reading.\u00a0During those years, the experiment unfolded in real time. The fragments were broadcast in public spaces\u2014notably on the radio\u2014where they were read or heard by others, including hosts at France Inter. When events subsequently occurred, some of these witnesses themselves drew connections to the previously broadcast fragments, sometimes even before the author did.\u00a0The installation now juxtaposes these glimpses with the public events that took place after they were recorded.\u00a0The events in question involve real occurrences and, at times, disappearances. They are presented with restraint, without any intent to interpret them.\u00a0The stroboscopic disc illustrates the mechanical principle at play: images separated in time that, when linked through rotation, resonate with one another in retrospect.\u00a0The exhibition, the book, and the digital version offer three different ways to engage with the cin\u00e9scriptographe. The exhibition presents a selection, prioritizing the pieces that are most immediately graspable so as to make their functioning perceptible within the space. The book represents the most precise and thoroughly documented form, while the digital version\u2014freely accessible online\u2014offers a more concise approach.
